Content extractability
Content that is easy for AI to extract and cite follows a clear pattern. Use this checklist:
- Clear definition in the first paragraph
- Self-contained answer blocks (40–60 words) under each heading
- Statistics with sources (links to studies, data)
- Comparison tables for "X vs Y" queries
- FAQ with natural-language questions
- Schema markup (FAQ, HowTo, Article, Product)
- Expert attribution where relevant
- Recently updated (e.g. within 6 months for time-sensitive topics)
- Heading structure that matches query patterns (e.g. "What is X?", "How to Y?")
- AI bots allowed in robots.txt (see AI bot access)
